The camera uses a fixed-focal M12 lens and is available with 3.6mm and 6mm focal-length options. The 3.6mm lens provides a wider viewing angle of approximately 87° horizontally, while the 6mm lens provides approximately 54–55° horizontal coverage, making it suitable for both wider-area and more focused monitoring.

For challenging lighting conditions, the camera supports 120dB WDR, 3D Noise Reduction, BLC and HLC. These features help preserve image details in scenes containing bright and dark areas while reducing noise in low-light environments. It also supports ROI, image rotation, mirror mode and privacy masking.

As a Dahua WizSense camera, the DH-IPC-HFW2849T-AS-IL provides intelligent surveillance functions based on deep-learning technology. It supports human and vehicle classification for intrusion and tripwire events, helping improve detection accuracy and reduce irrelevant alerts.
